Recommendations reflect research for November 2026. This is a dated comparison, not a promise of current price or availability.
Choose a 4K office monitor by readable scaling, stand placement and connections before refresh-rate headlines. A 27-inch and a 31.5-inch 4K display contain the same nominal pixel grid, but present it at different physical sizes. The larger screen is not automatically more workspace after you increase interface scaling. Try your usual applications at a comfortable text size before deciding which diagonal is practical.
Where to start
Dell S2725QS
Balanced 27-inch desktop choice. The S2725QS is the sensible starting point for a desktop computer that already has its own power supply. Dell documents a 27-inch 4K IPS panel, up to 120 Hz and a stand that adjusts height, pivot, swivel and tilt. Choose it for positioning flexibility rather than a docking promise. The QC sibling below is a different purchase: do not assume that a similar name gives the QS USB-C laptop charging. For spreadsheet work, check your preferred scaling before deciding whether 27 inches is enough.

LG 27US500-W
Basic 27-inch display option. This is the simpler 27-inch alternative when a sharp work display matters more than an elaborate stand. LG documents 4K IPS and a tilt-only stand; that last detail matters on a desk whose height is fixed. Budget space for a suitable riser or arm if the screen cannot sit at a comfortable height. It is not the one-cable laptop choice. A good display-quality theme cannot answer whether your laptop supports the desired resolution through its particular adapter.

Dell S2725QC
Compatible-laptop convenience. The QC is the more relevant Dell for someone repeatedly connecting and disconnecting a laptop. Dell documents USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode and up to 65 W power delivery, alongside 27-inch 4K IPS and an adjustable stand. Confirm that your computer sends video over USB-C and that its power needs fit that limit. A USB-C-shaped socket alone is not enough. Prefer the QS if you do not need this workflow; prefer a separate dock if you need host-specific networking or more connectivity than the monitor provides.

LG 32UR500K-B
Larger basic workspace. LG identifies a 31.5-inch diagonal, marketed as 32 inches in the listing, with 4K resolution and built-in speakers. It is worth considering when you want larger text at a given scaling setting rather than more pixels than a 27-inch 4K screen. The included stand is tilt-only. Measure both the base footprint and the viewing distance before choosing it for a shallow desk. Built-in audio is convenient for occasional sound, but is not a substitute for checking call microphone and speaker arrangements.

Dell S3225QS
Large screen with stand flexibility. Dell documents a 31.5-inch 4K VA panel, up to 120 Hz and an adjustable stand. This is the larger-screen alternative to the S2725QS, not its USB-C-docking counterpart. Choose between the Dell and LG large screens by usable placement and your actual input needs, not diagonal alone. They have the same nominal pixel grid, so neither automatically holds more readable spreadsheet columns at your chosen scaling. If multiple people share the desk, check how quickly each can reposition the stand.

KTC H32U6
The KTC H32U6 is a 32-inch 4K option for a larger desktop workspace. Its adjustable stand makes it worth considering before buying a separate monitor arm. Check that the screen and stand fit your desk, and confirm the exact regional package and return terms before ordering. Do not choose it on the assumption that a larger screen automatically brings better text scaling or compatibility with your existing laptop connection.
Samsung ViewFinity S7 S71H listing
regional configuration unresolved. The saved listing names a 27-inch ViewFinity S7 S71H. Samsung family documentation supports a 4K IPS configuration, but the regional model relationship remains unresolved for this offer. If you prefer Samsung, check the complete model suffix and included stand against the regional manual. Do not import USB-C or higher-refresh features from another ViewFinity model because the family name looks familiar.

Verify the complete display path
Write down the resolution and refresh rate you want, then check the laptop port, cable, adapter or dock, and monitor input as one chain. USB-C power and USB-C video are separate capabilities. If charging matters, compare the documented output with your computer’s requirement rather than the charger’s input rating. Check whether the supplied cable supports the intended mode.
Measure the stand footprint and working depth, not only the screen width. Choose readable operating-system scaling and test your normal applications before declaring the display too small or too large. For multiple computers, verify input switching, KVM and split-screen behavior independently; not all features run together. If using an arm, match the exact VESA pattern, supported weight and desk-clamp requirements. During the return window, check your actual spreadsheet, video call and screen-sharing workflow, not just a demonstration image.
